Effluent Tank Cleaning
Works now commence to reline this 6m tall x 28m diameter effluent tank on a waste water treatment plant located at a leading pharmaceutical manufacturers in Ayrshire, Scotland.
Site Survey Results
The tank had been condemned due to levels of corrosion and numerous leaks in a recent condition report undertaken by a leading tank manufacture and the client was faced with huge disposal and replacement costs. In a last ditch effort to save the tank the client contacted LAM and requested a site survey to assess suitability of the tank for a chemical resistant GRP Lining.
Once the survey was carried out, LAM provided a detailed proposal and quotation which when considered amongst other options was undoubtedly the most economical, practical and environmentally friendly solution to bring the tank back into service life for a further 10 to 15 years.
Tank Lining Facts
The cost of relining the tank and bring it back to service life for a further 10-15 yrs compared to replacing the tank in this case was only 35% of the disposal and replacement costs
LAM are now formally appointed as main contractor and the tank cleaning and grit blasting works are underway.
Project updates to follow.
